No patience Virginia !
A very condescending post .
We have been more than patient - this is going on for well over 25 league games .
He would already be gone at 90% of clubs .
As others have said he is not learning from his mistakes .
I think those giving him the next 2 games are being very generous.

It's something of a myth that we tailed off badly last year. We got 31 points from our first 19 games and 25 from the next 19. Given that we won our 19th game.. we got 28 from 18 and 28 from the last 20.
When you consider that we prioritised Europe and tanked a couple, it really wasn't a dramatic fall off at all - particularly as we played 4 of the top 6 away from home in the second half of the season.

What resources we did have were used poorly. Just as they're being used poorly now.

Eerie,

It would be insanity to sack Moyes after 9 games. Are you really going to sack a bloke who saved us from relegation, stabilised us, got us into Europe twice and gave us our best consecutive finishes for 2 years?

A better question would be (for all you armchair managers who have no patience) how does Moyes piece the playing style of the side back together with......

a) Squad depth.
b) More talent.
c) Playing on two fronts.
d) Succeeding on two fronts.
e) Managing the transference of dressing room influence now Noble, Yarmo and Fredericks are gone.

Of course he won't be managing the expectations of the armchair managers who've never managed anything with profile.

Answers on a post card.

Virginia, out of interest, how long are you giving him? I've said the next 2 games, which are both at home against teams we should always be expecting to beat. Have to beat. If we don't win either game, we'll be on 4/6 points in 9 games, that is serious trouble.

My biggest concern is not necessarily the lack of points, which is our joint worst start to a Premier League season ever, but it's the standard of football. I've watch every second we've played this season, both over there or on TV, and aside from the 2nd half against Spurs when we were decent without being great, we've been fucking appalling.

THAT is the most worrying thing. There's not a single bit of hope in what I've seen. Poor team selections, poor tactics, poor form, 3 goals in 7 games, 1 very lucky win in a game where we were again shit. Trust me, this is not knee jerk, something is very wrong. I and a few others predicted this in pre season.

Chelmsford.

Next game. Wolves.

This break is a perfect time to regroup......Moyes and the players have had plenty of time to get their shit together.

Moyes has no excuses from this point onwards.

virginia, when can he be judged then ?. Yes we had a small squad but that was partly down to him . The wheels came off around February and in that time we managed to win a couple of european games , apart from that we were pretty dire.

Even going by your excuse of having a small squad, he hasn't got that now but he still continues to play players that are not performing . Christ knows what those sitting on the bench.

What Flynn Downes and even Benrhama must make of it god only Knows . If as everyone keeps saying you want to be mixing it with the big boys and im pretty sure if he was delivering what he's been at one of those clubs for this long he'd be well gone Eurpean semi or not.

Moyes should not be judged for our first 7 games against what happened from January-end of season. We had a small squad, played the same side twice every week and the PL suffered.

Out of that, we got to the EL semi and STILL finished 7th. With a bigger squad we could have qualified for EL, AGAIN.

I think last year's players deserve some loyalty, but I also now think Moyes can't use the new player excuse. We have a 2 week break and it's time to leave out some stalwarts.

I think Cresswell, Soucek, Fornals (whose not played in his preferred position much) and Bowen need to be left out. Lanzini for Soucek is not the right answer.

We'll see. The pressure's on Moyes, as I pointed out a few weeks ago, because he can't use fatigue as an excuse.

Nonsense Virginia.
He's being judged on league performances and results in 2022 which are pitiful, not just the start of this season. It all points to relegation which is where we currently sit.

He shows no sign of learning or changing and just keeps picking the same players and using the same tactics with the same results. The team are also showing no signs of improvement and look like they're getting worse by the game instead.
Football is actually a pretty simple game.

Re: ⚽ Everton v West Ham - Official Match Thread - Preview
Moyes and his coaches can start by getting our midfield to press much better when not in possession but that will likely mean one or all of Soucek, Fornals, Bowen and Paqueta being replaced. The tactic of sitting back for 60 mins to absorb pressure before expanding our play would also need to be revised you would think? We need to keep the ball much better and try to move teams better by doing that and opening up spaces to feed the forwards or get in behind.

Fornals is not a wide midfield player. Cornet or Benny are wide players so no more “square pegs in round holes”. Fornals is useful but only centrally and he does run.

A lot also depends on effective replacement of Soucek and others in the aforementioned group. Hopefully Downes will be the man and he moves a lot faster, passes much better and keeps the ball better as a consequence. But only based on one game although he Championship stats at Swansea shows same impressive passing but also ball recovery and interceptions were very good. Moyes supposedly wants to gradually introduce him as he believes the Premiership was a big step up. But with Soucek really struggling he has to throw him in asap.

Then there are options like Kehrer and Emerson for the midfield although replacement of Coufal by Kehrer at RB seems as big a priority. But both Emerson and Kehrer are visually far better athletes than Soucek and Fornals and both are quicker. All these 3 players are also technically much better than Soucek and Fornals. But Moyes will need to get whoever coming in runs their buts off to start getting more possession and keeping it far better.

In summary, this international break is the perfect time to work on the changes that need to be made before we meet Wolves. Yes some players are away but I think most our newcomers are not?

The time for radical action is now Mr Moyes.

Yes mate I know a few agree with you too. I'm old school and feel the keeper needs to make a few mistakes before he loses his 1st place ranking.

I've seen Areola make more mistakes than Fabianski in recent games. Liike the goal scored by Silkeburg where he didn't even move. Then the disallowed goal where he fell over and they scored but the ref gave a free kick but replays showed there wasn't any fouls.

Both of them have a tendency to kick straight into touch. on occasions. Fabianski possibly wastes more. Otherwise it's up to Areola to take the jersey but Fab hasn't yet made enough mistakes to lose it imo. master says Fab's hip is not good but we shouldn't rush to get rid of him.from 1st team yet even though he's 37.

Don't be so ridiculous. What's wrong with you?

Aside of sacking Moyes for a poor start, is that the best you have? 7 fucking games?

You have no clue whether Moyes can handle the next stage, but I'd imagine he has a decent idea of the next steps otherwise he'd have vetoed new blood. Do you disagree?

So, he has to piece the whole lot together. Not easy. You certainly couldn't do it. I think the international break has come at a good time.

It is certain time for changes, but I have said for some time that neither Moyes nor the coaching staff have a hiding place,. They have all the tools. They have to organise them into a winning side.

Relax, stop making assumptions, and lets have another chat at the end of November.

I'd argue Bowen needs dropping before Coufal. Bowen has been abject this season. He seems a yard off his pace from last year, his decision making is awful and unsurprisingly looks shot of confidence.

We've all seen what he can do when firing on all cylinders, but I honestly think it would be best if someone else stepped in for a few games to take some pressure off of him. Let him start the cup games and find some form.

Without any threat from that side, opponents can commit more resources down the flank, making Coufal's job harder.

I think by bringing in quality players Moyes has created a management problem that he cannot handle.

Last season our squad was so small it picked itself, if we needed a sub he could choose between Masuaku, Kral, Yarmalenko etc. Now he has a quality bench which means he has to leave players out and he cannot bring himself to drop certain players. He had better sort it quickly or the owners will sort it for him.

How have we gone from a very fit, quick counter attacking side with a tough defence to this shit who's in the bottom 3 and I think bottom 2 for running stats?

Is a co-incidence that since Noble and Pearce left the club we're turned into this shit?

No it's not. Moyes on his own is inept and unmotivating. Times up now.

What depressed me was at one point Everton from almost their goal line passed the ball out of defence and into a promising attacking move. We'd never do that. Just hoof it up to Antonio or Scamacca.

When Man U got a good tonking at Brentford a few weeks back stats showed how little they’d run, next day the manager gets them in for running, what has Moyes done about yesterday, probably bought them all a cream cake.

Moyes certainly isn't helping himself at the moment with his insistence on picking certain players who are clearly either shit or playing shit.

Feel sorry for Bowen as all wide players need a good full back behind them and for some reason coufal has gone from being brilliant to looking like he's never played football before. His decision making going forwards and then final ball are the sort I'd expect a n9n league player to make.

I 100% know the attack has finished when he's given the ball near their box.

And soucek and fornals need to be fucked off sharpish. Fuck knows what some players on the bench think being kept oit by some of these clowns.

Won't blame any of the new boys yet, plenty of time to cunt them when they're up to the speed of this league.paqueta needs to realise he doesn't have all day on the ball like in that shite french league though.
